JMST adheres to the principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

All research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and must receive approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or equivalent ethics committee. Authors must provide details of IRB approval and informed consent procedures within the manuscript.

Informed consent must be obtained from all participants or legally authorized representatives unless waived by the ethics committee.

All clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible registry prior to participant enrollment. Acceptable registries include any registry accredited by the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (WHO ICTRP), such as ClinicalTrials.gov or other recognized national or international registries. The registration number must be provided in the manuscript.

Research involving animals must comply with institutional and national guidelines for animal care and use. Approval from an appropriate animal ethics committee must be documented.

JMST strictly prohibits all forms of research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and duplicate publication. All submitted manuscripts are screened using similarity detection software.

In cases of suspected misconduct, the journal follows COPE guidelines and may request explanations from authors, conduct investigations, and take appropriate actions including rejection, retraction, or notification of institutions.

Authorship must be based on substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.

The journal promotes transparency in reporting and encourages adherence to recognized reporting guidelines such as CONSORT, PRISMA, STROBE, and CARE, depending on the study design.

As part of our commitment to strengthening research integrity, all authors are required to submit a Certificate of Research Ethics Education at the time of manuscript submission.

Authors should complete the online research ethics training program provided by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Human Resources Development (KIRD) and upload the certificate as a supplementary file during submission.

If an author has previously completed the training and the certificate remains valid, the existing certificate may be submitted without the need for re-enrollment.

Online Research Ethics Training (KIRD)
